Want Out

Me and my family want to move outta Cali. However lack of a vehicle, funds and a new place to stay hamper our plans. If you or you know someone with a piece of land with some sort of shelter for a family of 7 and if we can figure out a way to get to the place, we can work out an agreement. Just need to get out if here and into the mountains or country. Doses not need to ne pretty, just a useable shelter that we can live in until such time we can afford to purchace our own land. We can not stand the city anymore and need to get out.

Burned

The title says it all. This is me 2 days after being home from the lake.

image

Now this is my back. Forwhatever reason the middle part did not burn even though my whole back was exposed. Needless to say is as painful to view it as it is in real life. Though the stiffness and soreness has set in so as I write this, I’m in a lot of pain.

All in all we had a great time at the lake. Though crowded, we still managed to get the kids out and even got them across the lake and back. Did this all day, so its no wonder I am sore….lol

Monday at the Lake

Well its a lil late, but here’s my post about our day at Lost Lake.

This past Monday, the family, our good friend and myself loaded up in the car and took off for the lake. After the kids got out of school first of course…lol. We had plenty of goodies and food to last the rest of the day. Though we forgot the radio. So no music. 😦  Anyways we arrived there at just after 2:30 and found that there were only a few others around. Which is good, cause its not that big of a lake. So we found a picnik table, switched into our pool shoes (to protect out feet from the rocks) put on sun screen and off into the water we went. Let me tell you, the water was quite cold, but after getting used to it, it was not that bad. The air temp was 102, but the water felt good. We splased around, tried to teach the kids how to swim, though they were just happy to be out and playing, so teaching anything fell on deaf ears. After awhile the kids wanted to play by themselves, and there was a shallow area, like a cove, that was no deeper than 14″. But we hung around just in case. But our friend and myself swam across the lake a few times which we could really feel the burn as we had not worked those muscles in a long time.

Well after a while the kids started to get hungry, so out of the water we went, and up to the table. We all ate sandwiches with ham, turkey, tomato, lettus, cucumber and spicy mustard. Chips for all and pudding for the kids. So after we all finished, we just sat around and talked to give our food time to settle. As we sat there, I took out my sketch pad and charcoal sticks and wanted to draw something that I saw out there. Now keep in mind I suck at drawing…lol. And its been forever since I drew anything with charcoal. But I managed to get something on paper which kinda resembles the landscape…lol. But for being visually impaired, and lack of drawing experience, I thought, as did the wife, our friend and our oldest daughter, did damn good on what I had done.

Well before I finished my drawing, everyone had went back down to the lake. I followed just a very short time later. So, as I proceed to get back into the water, I noticed that it was colder than before. Took longer to adjust and get used to it, but we never fully adjusted to it. So it was back to playing with the kids for a bit, splashing around and whatnot. After a while, the kids went off into the cove area to play just as we decided it was time to swim to the other side of the lake. Well this time my wife joined in as she wanted to say she was able to do it. Lets just say it looked like 3 fish outta the water trying to swim across…lol. After we had managed to get across, we talked for a bit on the other side, keeping a eye on the kids, which they were excellt in listening to us, plus they had their big sissy to help watch over them. Well after a few, we headed back over to the kids to play with them some more. Though towards the end, our oldest son got grumpy and sat out until it was time to leave.

Well we stayed until the sun set behind the mountains and figured it was time to leave, so we could get back home, clean the kids up and get them ready for school. All in all, everyone had a great time, and we are planning to go to the lake at least once a week. As its great exercise and it gets the kids out to release their pent up energy. So stay tuned for our next adventure.

Till next time,

Our Day Out

Well as promised heres about our day out on Friday.

Our good friend Big Mike came over to take us out to a lil known spot up in Cajon Pass in San Bernardino. It had a nice little free flowing stream coming down out of the mountains. It was a very scenic spot if you ask me. Just the right mixture of desert, greenery, mountains and nature. So we pulled off to the side of the road and we let the kids play in the stream, which we found at its deepest was less than 18″.

image

Well I happened to hear a familiar sound. The whining of diesel locomotives. So I walked just up the short hill to catch a glimpse of it.

image

So after I could not see much of the trains, I turned my attention back to nature, and the kids…lol

We found this but not sure if its a shell of some kind or rock. But it was neat looking and took it home with us.

So this was our day. Letting the kids play in the stream, hiking up the stream a bit and just relaxing and enjoying the sun, water and nature. We are already planning to take the other two boys up there as they were in school during the time we were out. We are wanting to spend all day out there and have a picnik. But next time bring suntan lotion…lol

Also me and Big Mike are planning a day hiking trek there and further up the stream as well as do some exploring. Hoping to find other spots to take the bunch to. So stay tuned for further updates on our future adventues.

Coming up in the next month or so, we are planning a camping trip to the nearby lake where we were so also stay tuned for updates on that as well.

All in all we had a fantastic day. For me it felt good to get out of the house and experience the outdoors again without having to go to a doctors appointment. And it helped with my depression and it helped my soul. So I am eager to get back out again.

Till next time,

Tara’s First Day

Well today was our youngest daughters first day of school. Though I did not get to walk her to school and see her off due to severe back and leg pain. She woke up eager to go and was excited. So mommy walked her as did her older sister. I was told she did fine, she ate breakfast at school, and they made sure she got to her classroom.

Well she got out at 12:30 pm since she’s in AM kindergarten and when she got home she sowed me a picture she drew today.

So anyways the teacher said she wimpered, but was very good and showed excellent self control and had no problems out of her. So, lets hope that continues the rest of the school year.  🙂

First off, hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July.

Today was the best day that I’ve had in a very long time. A very good buddy of ours was here to share it with us. The kids got to play in the water and sprinkler for most of the day as us adults sat out with them and grilled hotdogs and polish sausages. Had a good lunch and we let the kids play some more.

As it got dark, we watched others set off their fireworks, though most people around here had illegal ones…lol. then the kids wanted us to set off our own. Ones we got from a firework stand…lol. So we lit them off and the kids a great time watching them and laughing and having a grand ole time. Afterwards, the kids wanted to run around so we let them race each other to run off excess energy.

Also tomorrow is the first day of school for our 4th and 2nd grader and for our youngest daughter, its her very first day of school in Kindergarten. Mommy and daddy gonna be sad…lol, but I’ll tell y’all about how it goes in tomorrows post.

A good time was had by all, we all enjoyed getting out and enjoying the fresh air, sun, watching the kids play, sharing stories and having a good laugh with a good friend.

Happy 4th y’all and we’ll do this again next year.

Till next time, have a good’n
